Head On A Stick Television Appearances

Television Is Better With A Little Head

The Today Show, February 27, 2008

In February of 2008, the Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Heads On A Stick traveled to New York City to attend the Clapton/Winwood concerts at Madison Square Gardens. While in the Big Apple, they enjoyed extensive coverage on two national networks, beginning with The Today Show on February 27, 2008. A video montage of their sightings is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRD5sHisDvQ. Here are some of their favorite screenshots:

The Today Show, February 28, 2008

Their appearance on February 27 was so successful that they returned for an encore performance on The Today Show the next day. Meredith Vierra looked puzzled, but intrigued when she saw the Heads again. The Heads received no compensation for their appearances, although they did get to meet some other celebrities. The Eric Clapton Head On A Stick was autographed by "Friends" star Courtney Cox and the Steve Winwood Head On A Stick was autographed by "ER" star Maura Tierney. A video montage is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUguZbNbBBg. Here are some of their favorite screenshots from that day:

Good Morning America, February 29, 2008

Anxious for variety, and a warmer place to wait, the Heads On A Stick moved to the ABC network on February 29 for a taping of Good Morning America. Even though a TV monitor showed the Heads getting a lot of face time, they weren't actually being broadcast! Eric Clapton Head On A Stick was only seen momentarily at the top left hand corner of the screen and poor Steve Winwood Head On A Stick was only partially seen for a split second. Their appearance can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eplYzjn6aAs. A screen shot is shown below. I hope you do-gooder Peace Corp workers who were being interviewed are happy with yourselves. Sure you feed the hungry, educate children and provide shelter for the down-trodden, but you broke the heart of a couple of cardboard cut-outs.
